Goal for any meat is 5 degrees F less than max internal temperature

Rules for steaks
Dry and season liberally your steaks at least 45 minutes before cooking
Don’t bother with getting them to room temperature
Dry age steaks up to 3 days after seasoning
Use the heaviest pan you’ve got
Manage your temperature
Don’t crowd the pan
Flip as often as you like
Don’t add butter & aromatics until towards the end when using high heat
Don’t forget to sear the edges on thick steaks
Rest before serving
It’s about being alive & feisty and not sitting down and shutting up even though people would like you to.
